What do you want to do? | How you can do it: |
---|---|
See an overview of a snippet set and insert items with a click | You need KeyCue 8.1 or newer for this. In KeyCue, you can then define a 'Typinator action' and select the Typinator set to display when you press a certain key combination. |
Find the last expanded snippet | Enter 'last' in Typinator’s 'Quick Search' field. To find the five last expanded snippets, enter 'last 5'. |
Import snippets from aText | Launch aText and export your snippet collection with aText’s File/Save command and select “aText” as the file format. Then import the created “atext” file in Typinator (Typinator 7 or newer required). Finally, quit aText to make sure that it does not interfere with Typinator. |
Import snippets from TextExpander | Find the file Settings.textexpandersettings in ~/Library/Application Support/TextExpander and open it with Typinator’s Import command. See also our dedicated page with helpful tips for switching from TextExpander to Typinator. |
Update Typinator to a newer version | We recommend using Typinator's built-in version checker and simply following the instructions. For more information and an important warning, please see our Tips page on how to best update Ergonis Software macOS products. |

Type an abbreviation without expanding it | You can do this in a number of ways (such as pausing/resuming Typinator, using a special 'suppress' expansion, or with an input field). These possibilities are described in more detail in this Power Tip. |
